Today - April 30, 1963 - 11:50 All is right with me and I cannot seem to perform the bow [illegible] correctly! What does it mean? Music has not an [illegible], and yet I fall short of ability. Or has the ability fallen? Can such a thing happen? I am quite content with life today. I’ve school, Al, & the family is getting on. Might this be the turning point in my life - have other introverts(?) overwhelmed performance in music? In the past years I’ve learned the wonderful [illegible] rich(?) of a music life & I’ve(?) also learned the heartaches side - [Illegible] filled with so much ambition for learning if [illegible] trio exhibited(?) a character not totally appealing to a man of [illegible] intent. Dear Johnny - he is music & he wanted to give his world to me - but rather, I chose to be with Al. What [two illegible words] within my conscience. Please dear life give me the courage to sing this one night for this music may cease tomorrow. Shades(?) of feeling are becoming visible. April 30 10 PM The hotel concert was a success. [Illegible] Lease conducted with best manner - better than any concert prior to this occasion. The alto section held their [illegible] sound firmly and they came through pronunciation - [illegible]. Surprisingly enough the base [illegible] & tenor sections were in good voice intonations and dramatically(?) alert were their finer points. The Sopranos were excellent. Being in the middle of this particular section I was aware of that which was [illegible] a combination of ability and quality. I think fear gave a helping hand. Many of these(?) girls are laxed the year round in glee, but this night - Ad(?) such magnitude! The trios were good. We received many compliments attributed to manner of performance, quality, alertness(?), & not to mention lastly - improvement - Yep! We came through - or should I say I came through. Everyone helped. They(?) will never know the depth of communication took that last step because of their good hearted comments & smiles. At this moment I want to continue singing - not cease. Found no water quenches this thirst.
