VIGOROUSLY DENOUNCE THE SHAM "REPUBLIC DAY" OF THE INDIAN RULING CLASSES!, DEMONSTRATION Jan. 26 '79 12 Noon Indian Consulate 215 Market St. San Francisco PUBLIC MEETING Feb. 3 '79 2:30 P.M Auditorium (a School Building) BERKELEY Jan. 26, 1979, is the 29th. anniversary of the sham "Republic Day" of the Indian ruling classes - a day when, 29 years ago, the Indian ruling classes imposed their constitution, legalizing their suppression of the struggle of the masses of the Indian people for national and social liberation. Each year, the Indian state spends millions of dollars on propaganda to promote "Republic Day". But the 29 years of this "republic" have brought only corruption and degradation, disease and poverty, feudal and imperialist oppression and exploitation for the Indian people. The cause of this is the semi-feudal, neo-colonial state of the big landlords and big bourgeoisie, propped up by imperialism and social-imperialism. The only way, therefore, that the state of affairs can be changed and genuine progress ensured is through a violent revolution that will smash the present state and imperialist domination and usher in an era of genuine democracy and independence for the vast majority of the Indian people. To lead the revolution to success, the party of the proletariat, a Communist Party based on Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism, is being built in India by the Marxist-Leninists by upholding Marxism-Leninism in opposition to revisionism and opportunism of all hues including "Mao Tsetung Thought'.' It is the duty of all patriotic Indian people to support and participate in this great struggle.
